Looking to get the most out of the Frolo app? Since the app is all about connecting with other single parents, arguably the best thing about being a part of the community is being able to make the most of our legendary Meetups! Thousands of frolos will tell you that attending a Frolo Meetup can be a truly life-changing experience, and an important first step in making your single or solo parenting experience a less lonely one. So, how do you get involved?

The Meetup function on the Frolo app is a great way for single parents to connect in-person and online and build a local and international community. Whether you're looking to meet up for a playdate, a night out, or a special event, or you’re stuck in on a Friday night with the kids in bed and are looking for some company, the Meetup feature makes it easy to find and join gatherings of like-minded single parents all over the world. Here, we’ll walk you through how to use Frolo Meetups.

Finding the Meetup Feed

To access the Meetup feed, open the Frolo app and tap on the "Meetups" icon at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to the Meetup section, where you can browse upcoming events and gatherings organised by the Frolo team or other community members.

The Meetup feed shows you a list of upcoming meetups, with details like the event title, date, time, location, and a brief description. You can filter the meetups by distance from your location, as well as by whether they are in-person or virtual events.

Creating a Meetup

If you don't see a meetup that fits your needs, you can create your own! Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner of the Meetup section, and select "Create Meetup."

From there, you'll be prompted to fill out details about your event, including:

• Title
• Start and end time
• Location (or virtual meeting link)
• Description of the event

Be sure to provide plenty of information so other Frolo members know what to expect. You can also choose whether you want the meetup to be open to all Frolo members, or just those you've connected with. If you’re yet to meet any frolos in your area and you want to change this, we urge you to take the leap and create a local meetup, you won’t regret it!

Once you've created the meetup, it will be added to the Meetup feed for others to find and join.

Attending a Meetup

When you find a meetup that interests you, simply tap on it to view the full details. If you'd like to attend, hit the "Join" button. This will add the event to your calendar and notify the organiser that you're planning to come. The process is the same whether it’s an online Meetup or an in-person one, but if it’s a virtual Meetup you’ll receive the joining link to the event. 

Many Frolo meetups are centred around child-friendly activities, like park playdates or family picnics. But there are also plenty of adult-focused events, such as wine and cheese nights, coffee meetups, or even single parent-specific workshops and classes.

Share a Meetup

Found the perfect meetup? Did you know you can share these outside the app? Share with your single parent friends so that they can join you on the Meetup, just hit the share button and you can share the link and Meetup details in a couple of clicks.

Add to Calendar

As mentioned above, if you want to join an upcoming Meetup, you can hit the 'I'm in' button to RSVP. In addition, there's an 'add to calendar' function within the Meetup so that you can add it to your phone calendar so that you'll be reminded to join ahead of the event. Perfect for busy single parents! 

Expert Meetups

There are regular Expert Meetups on the Frolo app, which are run by an experienced individual on a topic that we think will benefit the single parent community. This may be related to a topic such as co-parenting, dating, finances or work, or more general health and wellbeing topics that we know frolos care about. These tend to be virtual Meetups to make them as accessible as possible to our global community of single parents. 

Premium Meetups

Frolo Premium allows you to get even more out of the app experience, and one offering included in a Premium membership is exclusive access to Premium Meetups. These include a host of expert-run events, and you can find out more about these over on the app.
